Most golf courses on Vancouver's North Shore are located just 20 minutes from downtown Vancouver, and often provide amazing views of the urban skyline, the mountains, and the Pacific Ocean. Choose from public golf courses, par-3 greens, pitch and putt courses, and driving ranges.
Capilano Golf & Country Club
Capilano Golf & Country Club (420 Southborough Dr) has received praise from golf legends like Lee Janzen and George Archer for its course. Each of the 18 holes has an evocative name like "Skookumchuk" or "Lions Gate." Situated in the mountainside British Properties district of West Vancouver, this 1938-founded members' club has a stately Tudor manor as its clubhouse, and raccoon and bear sightings aren't uncommon.

Northlands Golf Course
Designed by the award-winning Les Furber, Northlands Golf Course (3400 Anne MacDonald Wy) is nestled on the side of Mount Seymour. This public golf course offers 18 challenging holes surrounded by lush forest. Narrow fairways and natural hazards abound, and the chances of spotting deer, coyotes, or eagles on the courses are excellent. Pick up gear at the golf shop, and sample microbrewery beer and West Coast nibbles at the Northlands Bar & Grill.
Gleneagles Golf Course
Gleneagles Golf Course (6190 Marine Dr) beautifully overlooks the sparkling waters of Howe Sound, and features a new clubhouse and wide, lush fairways. Founded in 1927, the nine-hole course is open daily from dawn to dusk.
Ambleside Pitch and Putt
Ambleside Pitch and Putt (1201 Marine Dr) is a par-3, 18-hole course in West Vancouver, laden with water hazards and great views of the Lions Gate Bridge and Stanley Park. It's open daily from March to October on a first-come, first-served basis. The surrounding Ambleside Park offers more options for the whole family, including food concessions, an oceanfront stroll a dog path, and a bird sanctuary.
Takaya Golf Centre
Operated by the Tseil-Watuth Nation (a local Aboriginal people), the Takaya Golf Centre (700 Apex Ave) has a 300-yard driving range with nearly 80 stalls, two practice putting and chipping greens, stadium-style lighting, four certified golf pros, and a coffee shop.

Having been around since 1929, UGC is a traditional course with long, narrow fairways and towering old-growth trees.
