On July 28th, the Colwood Rotary Club will host our 2nd Annual Art & Wine Festival at picturesque Fort Rodd Hill & Fisgard Lighthouse National Historic Sites overlooking the Salish Sea & the Olympic Mountains. Our festival brings community together for a great time while raising awareness & funds for Rotary community service projects that improve quality of life for people here at home & around the world. Over 30 local artists, Samplings of wines from Vancouver Island & BC wineries, Art Demos, Music by Island Big Band & other local muscians.

On July 28, take a stroll through Fort Rodd Hill National Historic site, sip a glass of wine, view the works of local artists, and know that you are helping to support our community. Colwood Rotary's Art & Wine Festival brings BC & island wineries & local artists together at a picturesque oceanside setting. A ticket gains entrance to Fort Rodd Hill, a keep-sake glass, five samples of wine, appetizing bites from WestShore's top chefs & the opportunity to view the works of local artists while enjoying local musicians. Proceeds from this event go towards Rotary projects.

Victoria Symphony Splash is an annual Victoria Symphony event that takes place on a floating stage moored in Victoria's Inner Harbour. It includes musical entertainment, food, souvenirs & the evening's highlight: a live performance by the Victoria Symphony. Many people arrive early to ensure they have a good view of the barge for the orchestra performance at 7:30 pm. Kayakers & canoeists can moor their craft near the barge to listen to the music from the water. Donations accepted to support the Victoria Symphony.

The concert concludes with a performance of Tchaikovsky's 1812 Overture, complete with bells, cannons, & fireworks.

Meet local artists & purchase artworks such as: paintings, ceramics, jewelry & beads, woodworking, art for the garden, glassworks, textiles more. Live music all weekend. 'Art on Wheels!' Classic cars on display. Beer, cider & wine from Driftwood Brewery, Sea Cidery & Jackson Triggs. Plant sale: from the Glendale Gardens' own nursery. Our Master Gardeners on hand to field your questions. Bring your children, entertainment for the young. All this in the setting of one of Canada's garden treasures! All funds raised during this event will be dedicated to the development of Glendale Gardens.

Travel through time & wake-up in the 14th century. Look, smell, listen the Middles Ages are here. Stroll among the tents where armourers, weavers, carpenters, pewterers & calligraphers work with the tools & techniques of the era. The Pacific Association for Recreating the Middle Ages actors & members take proud in displaying their medieval dresses & attires. Let them show you their tools & creative masterpiece. Be inspired by their stories & join the entertainment.

Teams from across North America will race across a 500 m saltwater course, paddling from Laurel Point to the Royal London Wax Museum. This is the only dragon boat festival in Canada to take place in a working harbour.

This year the Lions Clubs of Greater Victoria are proudly combining their forces to bring one of the most iconic & memorable events to the Saanich Fairground. Representing a colourful tradition & ceremony through the horse & scarlet uniform, the RCMP created a spectacle known around the world as the Musical Ride, providing Canadians from coast to coast with the opportunity to experience part of our heritage & national identity. Live entertainment. Come meet the horses & riders. All proceeds from this event supports BC Easter Seals Camp Campaign & Victoria Therapeutic Riding Associations. Admire the historic military vehicles on display, chill-out & enjoy live entertainment while the kids laugh as they test their skills on the inflatable obstacle course.

2013 will be the 36th Victoria Classic Boat Festival. The Victoria Classic Boat Festival is a juried event that has been held in Victoria, British Columbia, Canada for 36years. The Festival attracts the finest power, sail, & steam boats from the Pacific Northwest & around the world. A number of the vessels will be open to the public over the weekend in addition to the activity of the smaller boats, motor & steam running around the harbour. The Sunday morning Sailpast is always a great spectacle.
