Panorama Mountain Resort

Intimate, accessible, friendly, and laidback, Panorama has long been a favourite ski destination for families. The snowfall is dry and the days are sunny and warm. Here, 135 runs stretch across nearly 1,214 hectares (3,000 acres) of terrain with panoramic views of the Purcell and Rocky mountains. Panorama’s charming village is home to Canada’s largest outdoor slope-side hot pools, and the adventurous can go heli-skiing right from the village base.

  • Apr 16, 2020: “We always have a great time here, very long runs, NO waiting lines. We skied 42Km and 20,000 vertical feet at ONE day” 0
  • Mar 21, 2020: “Not changed much since last visit, except addition of 'Discovery' chair. Difference this time was visited with beginner thirty something and five year old, so more aware of gentler terrain opportunities. Small beginner area, much less so than say Fernie, which may come as a surprise to some, but more extensive 'improver' trails, unlike Fernie. Instruction decent to poor, for both above age groups ...... for the little 'un it just became an expensive chaperone service after a few days ..... nothing more was learnt and it was left up to me to develop skills. Otherwise excellent varied terrain for all levels, snow good when we went but can be a little thin otherwise (it's in the 'donut'). One downside was 'night skiing' ....... downright dangerous, I was taken out shepherding the five year old down ...... by a known resort worker who fell but didn't stop (confirmed at base by a lifty) ..... not good for a 'family' resort. Dire, expensive on hill food choices ..... enough to prevent us going back.” 1
  • Mar 20, 2020: “Only hit the mountain for one day but they got 8 -10 inches of fresh and there was A LOT of woods to hit and rip. i was there mid-week in early March and it was pretty empty. But so much terrain and powder on the front, and since the SnowCat was not running, never even went to the back bowl - but heard it is a lot of fun terrain on top of all I hit on the front. Only issue are lifts are limited and have to be careful where you end up. May be worse on a weekend as only 3 hours form Calgary.” 2
