The Bill Reid Gallery is the only public Gallery in Canada dedicated to contemporary Indigenous Northwest Coast Art and honours Bill Reid by exhibiting the Bill Reid SFU Art Collection as well as presenting special exhibitions and programs that build bridges between all peoples, including Indigenous and settler populations. The Gallery is conveniently located in the heart of downtown Vancouver and can be found within a short walking distance from the Canada Lines City Centre Station located in Pacific Centre or the Millenium/Expo Lines Burrard Station.

Castlegar Sculpturewalk is an annual exhibition of outdoor sculptures, located on a pleasant walking tour in downtown Castlegar. Viewers are encouraged to vote for their favourite sculpture via ballot – the winner of the People’s Choice award is purchased by the City for the permanent collections. All of the artworks are available for sale or lease. Ballots/maps are located in red ballot boxes along the route (the start of the route is at the Kootenay Market (635 Columbia Avenue), though you can begin the walk from anywhere. Ballots/maps are also available at the Castlegar Chamber of Commerce, City Hall, or the Kootenay Gallery.

Historically, Island Mountain Arts has sought to provide opportunities for the exhibition of professional artists in northern BC, for the benefit of both artists and northern communities. Relative to major urban centres, there have been minimal venues for exhibitions in the north, resulting in limited access to cultural activities for residents of small, isolated, or northern communities. Prior to 1988, Island Mountain Arts occasionally produced professional exhibitions by partnering with venues in Wells such as the Wells-Barkerville School, the Community Hall and the Wells Hotel, to exhibit artwork. With the restoration of the Hill Meat Market building in 1988 and creation of a public gallery, IMA was at last able to provide a secure professional venue for exhibits in Wells.

The Richmond Art Gallery is the City of Richmond’s Public Art Gallery, supported by the Richmond Art Gallery Association. RAGA is an independent, non-profit society formed to support the gallery of the City of Richmond. Through innovative exhibition and education programming, the Richmond Art Gallery strives to enhance an understanding and enjoyment of contemporary visual art. The art gallery features exhibitions of regional, national and international contemporary works of art. Our Mission is to promote dialogue around contemporary art. The Ou-telier is an independent and process based artist residency and writing retreat on; a place for you to decompress, experiment, research and play. We welcome applications from emerging and established artists of all mediums including writers, photographers, textile and 2D artists. We love hosting folks who are self-directed, focused and kind. Our hope is that you will leave the residency feeling rested, renewed and inspired.

Gallery Odin is a contemporary, private art gallery located at Silver Star Mountain Resort just 22km Northeast of Vernon BC, in the heart of the Okanagan Valley. The gallery proudly represents a talented group of Okanagan, British Columbian and Canadian artists, some of them well established and highly accomplished, others just emerging, but all of them work in a distinctive and original style.

Brackendale Art Gallery, Home of the Brackendale Winter Eagle Festival and Count. Located one scenic hour north of Vancouver or 40 minutes south of Whistler, Brackendale Art Gallery is a center for the arts in the Squamish Valley. The Gallery offers licensed food service, gallery exhibits, concerts, live theatre, workshops and facilities for meetings and celebrations. The Brackendale Art Gallery Theatre Teahouse was established in 1970 as a community cultural centre to foster and further appreciation of local, BC and Canadian visual and performing art and artists. The Gallery is also a focus for environmental awareness and conservation and a meeting place for community groups. Hours of operation: Noon to 10 pm Sat. & Sun., to 5 pm Holidays and by arrangement year round. Also open noon to 5 pm Thurs. & Fri. in January during the Brackendale Winter Eagle Festival.

This gallery is a hidden gem with the work of 26 artists displayed over several rooms. Spacious viewing rooms allow visitors to take in the broad range of artistic styles and subject matters.
