The harbourside city of Nanaimo on Vancouver Island is home to the first bungee jumping operation in North America. WildPlay Nanaimo has seen more than 210,000 people jump from the park’s 46m/150ft bridge high above the Nanaimo River.
Vancouver Island has lots of variety for ziplining. In addition to bungee jumping, WildPlay Nanaimo offers ziplining, a giant swing and a tree-tops obstacle course, and WildPlay West Shore Victoria features ziplining as part of its tree-tops adventure. In Sooke, Adrena LINE Zipline Adventure Tours is set in a coastal forest and has eight ziplines (try night zipping for an added thrill). Strathcona Park Lodge (near Campbell River) includes ziplining as part of its schedule of adventures.
Bungee Jumping in Nanaimo

Ziplining in Nanaimo
WildPlay Nanaimo is packed with adrenaline-filled activities, including the scenic Canyon Zip. Start in the forest and zoom across and along a spectacular river canyon and under WildPlay’s bungee jumping bridge. The King Swing plummets from the bridge into the canyon, reaching speeds of up to 140km/87mi per hour. Both activities can be done solo or tandem.
Ziplining near Victoria
Adrena LINE Zipline Adventure Tours in Sooke, approximately 40 minutes from Victoria, features eight ziplines and two suspension bridges through a diverse coastal rainforest. Ziplines range from 40m/130ft to 305m/1,000ft in length and are up to 46m/150ft above the ground. Tours kick off with an ATV ride to the first launch point.
New at Adrena LINE is night zipping, with tours starting just before sunset and continuing into the dark. These are offered Friday and Saturday nights through the summer, as well as on full moon nights year round. Shuttle service is available throughout the day from Victoria’s Inner Harbour.
Another city-based option is WildPlay West Shore Victoria, which offers an aerial adventure course. Travel from tree to tree from platforms as high as 18m/60ft above the ground using a combination of elements including ziplines, suspension bridges, scramble nets and swinging logs. Both adult and kids’ courses are available.
Ziplining in Strathcona Park
For a more rustic experience, head to the Strathcona Park Lodge & Outdoor Education Centre near Campbell River. Strathcona Provincial Park is a mountain wilderness park located in the centre of Vancouver Island. The lodge offers adult- and family-oriented summertime adventures, including ziplining, rock climbing and kayaking.

Age, weight, height and health restrictions vary by company, so be sure to check in advance, especially when travelling with children. Ziplines in British Columbia are licensed by the BC Safety Authority.
