Dining
Although visitors might be tempted to cross the road into Coquitlam for Thai, Indian and other ethnic fare as well as fast food outlets, they would be missing out on some of Port Moody's first-class dining experiences.
Speak with any PoMo resident, and chances are they'll have a favourite eatery right on their doorstep.
Fine Dining
Overlooking Rocky Point Park, the harbour and Belcarra Mountain, The Boathouse boasts Port Moody's only waterfront restaurant. Ocean Wise seafood is also a big draw, especially its seasonal CrabFest which showcases crab creativity as in Whiskey Crab Soup, crab and shrimp ravioli, dungeness Crab noodle salad and other dishes.
Saint St. Grill in the town centre offers continental fare with a West Coast twist and always with a catch of the day – the warm calamari salad is a favourite.

Casual fare
Choose Rosa's Cucina Italiana for the funky bistro atmosphere and for mum's meat sauce and home-made tiramisu. It's a first-come, first-served deal so go early in the evening and early on in the week to avoid line-ups.
Fish 'n' Chips
As humble as the Pajo's shack looks, its fish and chips are superlative. This Rocky Point Park concession has earned iconic status with those-in-the-know who gather at the outdoor picnic tables to share a chip or two. Be sure to include a hand-made ice-cream from Rocky Point Ice Cream around the corner. The stall is only open in the summer and serves the best flavour combinations around. There's even an ice-cream blend especially for canines – kibbles mixed with a low fat vanilla!
Pub Grub
Newport Village has a few eateries, the favorite being St. James's Well Irish pub, better known to locals as simply 'The Well'. Here's where to come for pub grub and dinners that include Guinness, Crab & Corn Soup alongside Jameson Irish Whiskey Chicken, Steak and Guinness Pie, Bangers & Mash and even Liver & Onions. All the bacon and ham is cured on premises; some recipes date back to the early 1600s.
Coffee Shops
Also located in Newport Village, Gallaghers Coffee House is a great meeting place for cappuccinos and fresh-baked goodies. However, if the Italian bakery across the way is too hard to resist, grab a take out from both places and stroll down to Rocky Point Park.
