Built in 1986, the Dr. Sun Yat-Sen Classical Chinese Garden is the first full-scale Scholar garden built outside China using traditional techniques. Covered walkways & exquisite architecture make it a delight in any weather or season, with the same relaxing, serene landscape as found in the old, private gardens of China's ancient elite. This living museum promotes the understanding of cultures through daily tours, festivals, monthly art exhibitions, music concerts & unique live theatre productions in summer. One-of-a-kind finds in the Eight Treasures Shop. Located in the heart of Chinatown, a short walk from downtown Vancouver & historic Gastown, near parking & public transit.

Kitty Coleman Woodland Gardens promises the garden enthusiast, bird watcher, artist, vacationer & world traveller a memorable visit. Over 3000 rhododendrons of different varieties & sizes, companion plants & cultivated trees blend into the natural surroundings. Enjoy our festivals: Art & Bloom on the Victoria Day long weekend & Artisans' Festival on the Labour Day long weekend. Newly opened is our Ocean Stone Labyrinth. A traditional Japanese Tea and Stroll garden located at the University of British Columbia in Vancouver, Canada. Nitobe Memorial Garden is considered to be the one of the most authentic Japanese gardens in North America and among the top Japanese gardens outside of Japan. Included in the garden is a rare authentic Tea Garden with a ceremonial Tea House. There is harmony among natural forms - waterfalls, rivers, forests, islands and seas.

One of Canada's best collections of rhododendrons, many of which were started from seed obtained from famous plant explorers, is on display in the University of Victoria's Finnerty Gardens. Over 4,000 different trees & shrubs, with more than 1,500 rhododendron & azalea plants, including over 200 collected rhododendron species & a spectacular range of companion plants. 3 ponds provide habitat for birds & water-loving plants like the towering timber bamboo. Finnerty Gardens provides a rich & changing array of colour, scent, form & texture year round. In April & May, you will see the rhododendrons at their best.

5 minutes from famed Butchart Gardens, Victoria Butterfly Gardens was designed & built to showcase the life cycle & flight activity of tropical butterflies. It has evolved into a tropical paradise that offers something for everyone. Experience up close colourful, free flying butterflies, tropical birds, stunning flamingos & Koi swimming in the stream & pond. The 1,115 sq m (12,000 sq ft) enclosure is a balanced eco-system flourishing without use of herbicides or pesticides.
