You don't have to head north to Alaska or the Yukon for a dogsledding adventure – great opportunities are found right here in the southwest corner of British Columbia.

Just a two-hour drive from Vancouver on the Sea-to-Sky Highway, the four-season resort community of Whistler offers guided dogsledding tours in the Soo and Callaghan valleys from late November to March, weather permitting. Tours are generally 2.5 hours and include a light snack.

Dogsledding excursions at Whistler feature Alaskan racing huskies – the same breed used in the world-famous Iditarod dogsled race. If conditions are ideal you might even have the opportunity to learn commands and drive the sled.
