Hotel room

Catering to a wide range of visitors, Nelson's accommodation options span everything from a bunk in a backpacker hostel to a king-sized, luxurious waterfront suite.

There are several quality hotels in and around the downtown core, along with a resort hotel set alongside the lake. Less expensive motels can be found on the outskirts of town.

More than 20 bed and breakfast properties are located both in town and beyond the city limits, and there are backpacker hostels on Baker Street and on Vernon Street. Booking ahead is recommended.

Visitors travelling with pets should note that while there are several 'pet-friendly' hotels, dogs are prohibited on some streets in the downtown core.

Camping & RV

Relatively small campsites and RV sites are also available conveniently close to downtown. Looking for a little more space, as well as a beach and playground? Try the family-friendly Kokanee Creek Provincial Park, 19km/12mi east of Nelson. There are two campgrounds there, with more than 150 sites for campers and RVs. In July and August, reservations are essential for this very popular destination.
