Downhill skiers and snowboarders will find awesome powder conditions at the Powder King Mountain Resort located 65km/40mi east of Mackenzie.

With 12.5m/41ft of snow annually, SKI Canada magazine awarded Powder King Mountain Resort with the title of "Best Powder in Canada" in 2000. The views of Rocky Mountain's Murray Range and into the Pine Pass Valley from the hill are spectacular.

A 45-minute drive from the ski hill, Mackenzie makes a great home base for visitors coming from the west. Ski and Stay packages are available throughout the ski season with discounted room and ski lift ticket prices for visitors who elect to stay overnight in Mackenzie.

Beginner skiers staying in Mackenzie can also practice at the Little Mac's beginner ski hill, located in Mackenzie. The longest run is 210m/689ft, with a vertical elevation change of 90m/295ft.
