Roche Lake Provincial Park
Roche Lake Provincial Park has seven lakes well-stocked with rainbow trout (two of which are served by maintained gravel roads). Roche Lake is also home to the Kamloops trout, which can grow up to 4.5kg/10lbs and put up quite a fight. A year-round outdoor recreation area, Roche Lake Provincial Park is also an excellent location for fishing, guide outfitting, cross-country skiing, and snowmobiling. The park is accessible via a 11km/6mi well-maintained dirt road off highway 5A south, about 10 minutes from downtown Kamloops.
Tunkwa Provincial Park
Tunkwa Provincial Park, on a high plateau north of Logan Lake, contains two large, man-made trout-fishing lakes, Tunkwa and Leighton. These annually stocked lakes are popular spots for fly-fishing, and even hosted the World Fly Fishing Championship in 1993.
