Historic Hat Creek Ranch (BC Heritage photo)
Pick any outdoor activity and chances are it's found in Cache Creek.
In spring and summer, the Thompson River provides endless fishing (for steelhead), kayaking, canoeing, and rafting, while provincial parks feature amazing wildlife viewing and camping. Hunt for fossils or explore the area's diverse culture and history. In winter, snowshoeing ia a great option. Year round, a selection of rodeos, festivals, and family-friendly events take place.
At the heart of the Cache Creek experience are the 20 buildings that make up the historic Hat Creek Ranch, one of the most distinctive heritage sites in British Columbia. This site provides the chance to explore the original buildings of a key historical junction town. Tour the ranch, which dates back to 1861; participate in a series of hands-on demonstrations; indulge in a variety of activities, including overnight stays in a teepee, or enjoy traditional First Nations cuisine.
