Ski and snowboard on BC's amazing mountains and relax at wondrous winter resorts. It’s no wonder British Columbia was the host province for the Vancouver 2010 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games.

While skiing in BC, experience epic snowfalls, huge verticals, expansive backcountry and diverse terrain. Spectacular scenery and a mild winter climate provide the backdrop for big mountain skiing and snowboarding at winter resorts and family-friendly ski hills.

Vancouver has three ski areas close to the city, and a two-hour drive north of Vancouver leads to the award-winning resort town of Whistler, which features epic runs at Whistler Blackcomb.

There are 13 major ski resorts across BC that offer everything from black-diamond steeps and chutes, to wide-open terrain and tree lines. Most resorts have ski-in/ski-out accommodations, rentals and lessons.

But skiing and snowboarding are only the beginning; nearly limitless heli-skiing and cat-skiing, backcountry skiing, cross-country (Nordic) trails, snowshoeing and snowmobiling opportunities make BC the ultimate winter playground.
