Get your breath mints ready, The Annual Garlic Festival is back at Richmond's Terra Nova Rural Park. Open to all ages, this free event combines organically grown artisan garlic & garlic goods with family friendly activities like: live entertainment, cooking demonstrations, exhibitors & everyone's favourite, garlic ice cream.

This year's new attraction will be Graphic Illustrator, Sam Bradd, who will, through the magic of art, draw two important questions: What does a healthy & well-fed community look like? What does garlic mean in your home?

The Hospice Palliative Care Association is presenting a Chili Cook off in partnership with the Prospectors Car Club. We are inviting people to participate in this cook off to help raise funds for two Special Wheelchairs for Hospice House Quesnel. There are prizes for Youth and Adults. The adult winner will have their recipe showcased in Granville's Coffee over the next year!

Registration is $50.00 per adult team. Youth (15 years and under) are $20.00.

Cooking is from 11:00 am-3:00 pm with judging at 3:30 pm.

This is a wonderful chance to experience al fresco dining in the vineyard and meet your community. Zero waste is targeted and you are asked to bring your own picnic and a vegetable dish, salad or dessert made with local ingredients to share. Also keeping in mind with the original concept of the white dinner, don't forget to bring your own plates, cutlery, stemware, linens and chairs. Tables will be provided. Dinnrtime (formerly known as RightOvers) is a social impact start-up promoting better access to home-cooked food and is aimed at reducing food waste and increasing sustainable dining across the city.

Dinnrtime will host home cooks and anyone interested in the program at Meccanica for a night of food and wine with the goal of connecting people who love to cook with those who enjoy a home-cooked meal.

Dinnrtime is the second in an intimate event series titled Revolving Door taking place at Meccanica's new presentation centre between August - November 2014, aimed at cultivating culture and fostering a deeper sense of community within the Southeast False Creek neighbourhood.
