The Annual Carving on the Edge Festival celebrates the work of both traditional and contemporary wood carving artists; the 10-day festival includes a fine art wood carving show, demonstrations on traditional canoe-building, Nuu-chah-nulth paddle-making, mask making, burl wood carving, tool-making, and traditional designs. Presentations by master carvers, storytelling events, and family carving workshops for all ages. All events are open to the public at no charge and a "Carving Map' is available from local businesses and visitor centres will lead festival goers to event locations.

See the Canadian West through the artwork of R.D. Symons at the Fort St. John North Peace Museum from June 2 through September 24, 2014.
Symons was an artist, writer and naturalist. Born in England in 1898, he immigrated to Canada in 1914, to be a cowboy on a ranch in Saskatchewan.
He lived near Fort St. John from 1943 to 1961 first as a game warden and then as a rancher. He painted, worked with horses, wrote books, and was an advocate for conserving nature.
This exhibition was curated by Heather Smith of the Moose Jaw Museum & Art Gallery.

You are invited to participate in a juried glass exhibit at the Radium Hot Springs pools in Kootenay National Park.
This exhibit will be viewed by a large audience of visitors and features artists from Western Canada. Artwork should reflect the theme of 'Colourful Seasons' within the context of the nature of Kootenay National Park and may be either abstract or representational. If recognizable mountain peaks, wildlife or plant species are depicted, they must be those found naturally in Kootenay National Park.
