Alert Bay "Home of the Killer Whale" is the oldest community on Northern Vancouver Island. The Island is rich with an abundance of First Nation culture and history. Explore the U'mista Cultural Centre, Alert Bay Library-Museum, Ecological Park, nature trails, beaches, galleries, gift shops, whale watching, kayaking and fishing. Tour packages include: First Nation dance, bus, cedar weaving, story telling and salmon BBQ.

We have the Gilbert Popovich Memorial Town Square located next to the visitor centre where you can sit, relax and enjoy our quiet island life. Take a stroll along our beachside boardwalk.
