One Family's Commitment to Responsible Travel: Taking the Haida Gwaii Pledge
For travellers of all ages, the Haida Gwaii Pledge helps build a more personal connection with the unique culture and environment of Haida Gwaii.
If you plan to book a campsite in late summer, you’re in luck; there are still sites available. Here’s how to find a provincial campsite in August and September.
1. Plan ahead. With summer coming to a close, people are busily seeking last-minute campsites. To beat the rush, book at least a week or two ahead of when you’d like to camp.
2. Look for availability mid-week. If you’re flexible, camp mid-week. This gives you the best chance of getting a prime spot in a popular campground.
3. Check out BC Park’s reservation site. Plans change, which means reservable sites are released back to Discover Camping. Check back often to jump on someone else’s cancellation or shortened stay.
4. Try new campgrounds. BC is filled with stunning parks you may not know about. Many are smaller and quainter but offer the same beautiful scenery and fun weekends away as the bigger, more popular campgrounds.
5. Early fall can also be a great time to camp. Campgrounds are less busy as children go back to school. Many BC Parks campgrounds are open year round, but not all accept reservations after Labour Day. These ones do accept reservations in September:
