Plan Your Alaska Highway Road Trip Now

If you’ve always wanted to road trip the iconic Alaska Highway, now’s the time to stop dreaming and start planning. Why? Because 2017 marks the 75th anniversary of the highway’s construction, which was part of the US war effort.

From northeastern BC’s Mile 0 at Dawson Creek, the route stretches 1,523 miles (2,451 kilometres) to Fairbanks, Alaska. Highlights along the way include pristine fishing spots, serene hot springs, wildlife spotting, and dazzling northern lights. Community festivals, car rallies, and other events will mark the 75th-anniversary celebration. There’s never been a better time to hit the road.
