Whistler Blackcomb is a four-season resort located in Canadas Coast Mountains north of Vancouver. Proudly holding the title of the largest ski resort in North America, Whistler Blackcomb offers 8171 acres of terrain for skiers and riders of all ability levels. Welcome to the Golden Nordic Ski Club (GNSC)! We hope you will enjoy the ski season and invite you to share your stories and pictures of cross country skiing and snowshoeing at Dawn Mountain Nordic Centre and at the Golden Golf Course trails. Dawn Mountain Nordic Centre (adjacent to Kicking Horse Mountain Resort, 13 km outside of Golden) offers 33 km of groomed classic and skate skiing trails for all levels of ability. Dawn Mountain was the selected site for the National Masters Championships for 2010, hosting skiers from across the country. With over 500 members last season, the club has seen a steady growth in membership and in day users. The Golden Golf Course ski trails are closer to town (about a 6 km drive) and these easier trails are strictly track set for classic skiing.

Manning Park Resort is a four season, family-friendly resort in the heart of the Cascade Mountains that offers year-round camping and accommodation; hiking, biking, canoeing and paddling; skiing/snowboarding; 64km of cross-country ski trails; snowshoeing; and an outdoor ice rink. It has full Resort amenities, including a variety of accommodations, restaurant, pub, swimming pool and recreational activities, all in a beautiful natural setting. The Resort is within E.C. Manning Provincial Park, which means there are incredible hiking trails, and multi-purpose trails for biking, horseback riding, snowshoeing, cross- and back-country trails in the winter. In winter, our downhill ski and Nordic areas have a great progression for all levels, and we see consistently great conditions, due to our higher elevation and by virtue of being slightly more inland than the Coastal Mountains. We offer guided winter and summer tours of the Bowron Lake Chain and the Cariboo Goldfields. We operate from our home base at the Frog on the Bog Gifts and Coffee in Wells.
Our trails are of varying degrees of difficulty and length to accommodate all levels of nordic skiers, for classic and skate techniques. The modern facility includes a comfortable lodge with washrooms, a racer’s warming/waxing hut and some trails are specifically constructed to be Paralympic skiing friendly. Night skiing available with a 3 km lit loop open until 10.

We offer the best selection of specialty outdoor gear on the Sunshine Coast, plus rental gear, guided tours and lessons for kayaking, stand up paddleboarding, canoeing, snowshoeing, camping, hiking, and cross country skiing. In store we offer a great selection from brands like Arc’teryx, Patagonia, Smartwool, MSR, Thermarest, Black Diamond, Crocs, Rossignol, Nalgene, Deuter and many more. Our staff are avid outdoor enthusiasts, certified wilderness guides, and educators who offer a wealth of local knowledge to get you the right gear for your adventures. Whether you’re shopping in store or coming on a guided tour, we strive to make your experience top notch. In summer- we’ll take you paddling anywhere from Gibsons to Pender Harbour, with Sechelt Inlet and Thormanby Island inbetween! In winter we are your Dakota Ridge specialists, offering regular road and trail condition reports, 4×4 winter transportation, and of course rental equipment, tours, and a variety lessons suited to your abilities.

Silver Tip Lodge Heli-Skiing is the most remote, rustic and exclusive Heli-Ski experience available today, located in the majestic Cariboo Mountains in British Columbia. The only program for Heli-Ski guests is the one they create; you can ski when you want, for as long as you’d like, guided by ACMG guides who ensure your safety in the mountains. Snowshoe through old growth cedar using marked trails on the property, or set our on freshly set cross-country ski tracks straight from the lodge. All equipment is provided. After a long day of skiing enjoy decadent dining catered to your taste, take a soak in the hot tub overlooking the lake, relax in the sauna and steam room, or visit the massage therapist on site. Join us June-October for Quesnel Lake’s world class Rainbow trout fishing. Fully stocked boat house, fishing boats, and canoes available.
