The Keg, Milestones and popular fast-food chain outlets such as Tim Hortons, McDonalds and Boston Pizza are good family choices. So are Ricky's Restaurant adjacent to the Best Western Hotel and The Old Spaghetti Factory.
Expect to see house specialties that take full of advantage of having such crop-to-kitchen abundance of fresh produce on their doorstep. Whether it's Mitch Miller's signature breads or Ann Marie's 1950s diner with to-die-for milkshakes, most menus showcase Abbotsford grown organic meats, cool climate wine, goat cheese and fresh produce.
Looking for a pick-me-up? Well, spots such as Afterthoughts (noted for decadent desserts) and Tamaringo's Café always have something happening.
Some feature local artwork; others are venues for the Envision Concert Series; all are local answers to the ubiquitous Starbucks brand.
Fine Dining
The bounty of the countryside in food and lifestyle has attracted big city chefs who are helping to make Abbotsford a destination dining experience.

Finnegan's Pub & Grill
Finnegan's Pub & Grill shares the same complex as Phoenix yet the two restaurants maintain very separate ambiances. Located opposite the new Abbotsford Entertainment & Sports Centre, the sports-oriented lounge restaurant with its 62ft, uber long bar, puts a tasty twist on traditional pub fare. On most weekends, live entertainment ranges from country to disco-dancing to pub night sing-alongs.
Townhall Abbotsford
A rustic, comfortable gastropub serving comfort foods and traditional pub favourites. Stop in to have a meal or watch the game while sampling on of the 25 craft beers they offer.
Bow & Stern
Tucked in a refurbished 1927 heritage building in Historic Downtown, Bow & Stern is a locals favourite that features fresh seafood and live music in a realxed atmosphere.
Little White House and Co.
Little White House and Co. is a boutique tea shop which also serves brunch, lunch and deserts. No visit is complete without a trip to their girft shop.
Clayburn General Store & Tea Room
Although still operating as a grocery and deli, Clayburn General Store and Tea Room serves afternoon tea and scones as well as a sandwich or cheese plate. True to its 1905 origins, the refurbished atmosphere has a turn-of-the-century charm and includes an eye-popping selection of English candy such as lemon sherbets, pear drops and chocolate drops.
Tracycakes
For the ultimate cupcake, Tracycakes can't be beat; even the National Post newspaper cited them the most retro-delicious cupcakes in the country. More than 35 flavours are baked daily, each is topped with velvety whipped icing which earns them names such as Love at First Bite. High teas include sausage rolls, fresh fruit and lemon curd.
