A pinnacle experience for skiers and boarders around the globe, Whistler has been crowned with the ultimate honour – site of the alpine and Nordic events for the Vancouver 2010 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games.

It's hardly surprising, given past honours - SKIING magazine ranked the resort #1 Overall in North America, as well as #1 for Terrain/Variety and Luxury Travel magazine named Whistler "Best Overseas Ski Resort".

Thrill-seekers and families alike will find what they want at Whistler – two mountains with more than 200 marked runs, three glaciers, 38 lifts and over 3,307 ha (8,171 ac) of ski terrain with 13 magnificent alpine bowls, three glaciers, steep powder chutes, challenging mogul fields, secluded tree skiing and groomed-to-perfection alpine runs.

Snow? The summit averages 10 metres (33 feet) of pristine powder per season, with last year's snowfall measuring an astounding 14.16 metres (46.5 feet).

Whistler features one of the best sets of terrain parks in North America - from technical table tops to scaled down rails - and the greatest, vertical-rise skiing in North America. Treat yourself to heli-skiing/boarding or hop into a snowcat for a quick lift into Whistler's back country for genuinely fresh tracks.

Cross-country enthusiasts will thrill to 30 scenic km of groomed trails suitable for both classic and skate skiing. Other winter activities include: dog sledding, snowmobiling, horse-drawn sleigh rides, snowshoeing, and touring by helicopter and snowcat.
