Wineries & Vineyards
Grapes on a vine (Andrea Johnson photo)
The wineries of the Fraser Valley are just an hour’s drive east of Vancouver, with many located near the agricultural centre of Langley.
Most wineries are small and family-run, so it's possible to meet the owners or even get a personal tour or tasting.
Take a day trip to explore picturesque rural landscapes with vineyards, farms and scenic back roads or spend the weekend on a relaxing getaway. Stop in at historic Fort Langley or snack on berries at a “u-pick” berry farm.
The climate in the Fraser Valley lends itself to white wines such as Chardonnay and early-ripening reds such as Pinot Noir. Fruit wines, made with raspberries, cranberries or peaches, are also popular.
