Victoria-based artist Robert Youds' light installation, For Everyone a Sunset, draws upon the architectural vernacular of downtown Vancouver. Youds references the urban surroundings by using their associated materials-aluminium framework, salvaged glass, LED lighting-to construct a sculptural query that creates a space for audiences to contemplate the urban experience.

Taking its title from images in both artists' work, this exhibition uses the wood chopper as a metaphorical figure who 'clears a path' for those to come and the monkey as an emblem of the sense of loss and whimsy that is rarely discussed in Carr's work.

Emily Carr and Landon Mackenzie: Wood Chopper and the Monkey will be accompanied by an illustrated catalogue that explores the complex relationship between the works of these two artists. The catalogue is published by the Vancouver Art Gallery and includes a text by the renowned Emily Carr scholar Gerta Moray, Art History professor at the University of Guelph.

In the exhibition 'PigaPicha!', the East African photo tradition is presented and documented as a chapter of its own in the international history of photography. 'PigaPicha!' highlights the history of portrait photography in Nairobi and gives a comprehensive overview of this form of urban culture, which is one of the most creative fields in modern East Africa. The exhibition is produced by Iwalewa-Haus and the Afrikaarchiv (DEVA) of the University of Bayreuth, Germany. Join us for a special opening party on November 25 at the Museum of Anthropology.

See extraordinary masterpieces by some of the most famous artists of the Impressionist and Port-Impressionist movements. This major exhibition includes a matchless group of paintings and watercolours by Paul Cezanne, as well as paintings and sculptures by artists including Paul Gauguin, Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec, Edouard Manet, Edgar Degas and Amedo Modigliani. The exhibition is organized by the Princeton University Art Museum in cooperation with the Henry and Rose Pearlman Foundation.
