Skiing & Snowboarding

The mountains on Vancouver Island are blasted with Pacific Ocean air, which creates an incredibly deep, all-natural snow base – perfect for skiing and snowboarding.
The average snowfall here is in the range of 11.5m/38ft, so it's not surprising that in 2012, Ski Canada Magazine named Vancouver Island's ski resort, Mount Washington Alpine Resort, as having the Biggest Snow.
Mount Cain Alpine Park is the island's smaller resort, and it also suits families and powder fans.
Vancouver Island offers a diverse range of ski terrain and challenges, attracting everyone from international ski and snowboard training teams (several trained here in advance of the 2010 Olympic Winter Games) to groups looking for fun, relaxing runs.

The 2010-11 season brought us the most snow in resort history, what a winter! To celebrate, we've injected 3 million dollars into redeveloping our entire learning area, now called Easy Acres. Easy Acres will be one of the easiest places to slide on snow & one of the best places to learn to turn!
Easy Acres features 4 new Magic Carpets, which are just like moveable walkways you would see at an airport. Our Magic Carpets will be the longest in North America & feature covered canopies to protect you from the elements.
