On Vancouver Island, go cross-country skiing at Mount Washington Alpine Resort and peaceful Strathcona Provincial Park, which is conveniently located just outside the resort boundaries.
Mount Washington’s cross-country skiing facilities are world-class: it’s an official training site for XC Canada, and three international teams trained here prior to the 2010 Winter Games.

Mount Washington Alpine Resort, British Columbia
Mount Washington is home to one of the most spectacular coastal alpine settings in North America, with the Pacific Ocean as a backdrop on one side & scenic Strathcona Park bordering the other.
In winter, Mount Washington receives a legendary 10.5 m of annual snowfall. The resort is acknowledged as the home of Canada's deepest pile, however, it's not all about the snow! In summer, the mountain and surrounding resort community transforms itself into a major destination for mountain bikers, hikers and summer alpine enthusiasts.
