Ring of Fire is a jukebox musical celebrating Johnny Cash music. The cast tell his remarkable story through some of the greatest songs of one of America's brilliant singer/songwriters. The story travels from Cash growing up on a farm, to the Grand Ole Opry, to meeting June Carter and falling into the "Ring of Fire". A mosaic of American experience featuring "Five Feet High and Rising", "Daddy Sang Base", Ring of Fire", "I Walk the Line", "I've Been Everywhere", the show features the music of Johnny Cash at his highs and lows. . Ring of Fire gives the music the spotlight, as a core group of talented actor/musicians celebrate the songs that are such a part of our collective experience.

Musicians learn a concert's worth of music in just three days and then tour the province performing each night in four different cities. The Hornby Island Blues Society believes that music creates community, and Blues and Roots music energize the spirit and inspire attitude. In 2015 we continue our unique workshops where we invite a dozen or so of the finest Canadian Blues and Roots musicians around to share their knowledge and inspiration with those 70 students fortunate enough to have successfully registered for the camp. Our workshops cover a variety of instruments and blues playing styles and with our small class sizes, students get a hands-on instruction that is at the heart of all successful learning. Instructors this year include Harpdog Brown, Jack de Keyzer, Paul Deslauriers, Rick Fines, Julian Fauth, Angel Forrest, J.W. Jones, Chris Nordquist, Paul Pigat and Suzie Vinnick.
