Downtown Nanaimo's annual Harvest Festival celebrates the local natural food movement. The heart of the Festival is a lineup of 40 vendors, educational displays and interactive presentations focused on the local food movement. This one-day event includes a 'Fresh Food Fair' featuring local chefs and food trucks offering tasty dishes. Bluegrass and roots blues performers will keep the festival atmosphere lively. Baby farm animals are there for your petting pleasure as Tiger Lily Farms returns with their corral of critters for the little ones to learn a bit about farm life. Island Farms' 'Farmer Vicki and Daisy the Cow' will also be on hand. A Farmer & Vendor Market will offer fresh produce, locally harvested and value-added products from local growers and producers.
