Celebrations & competitions have changed somewhat through the years, but much is still as it was when agriculture was the backbone of the economy, & the fair originated in 1896.

Thousands of entries are expected to delight crowds of all ages this year. Classification of entries fall under livestock, horticulture, homemade wines, foods, hobbies, crafts, & many more!

Victoria's most popular Halloween activity over the past 20 years. Tour routes are developed and narrated by John Adams, a well-known local historian and ghost expert who has appeared many times on the Creepy Canada TV series. Each year, the two-hour route is different and includes many new stories as well as some of the favourites from previous years. Ghost Bus Tours leave from a secret Victoria location. Only once you reserve and pay for your ticket will you find out the departure location. Seating is limited on each bus and tickets sell out quickly, so book early.

Beware of the Hallowe'en Train! Ride the steam train through ghostly scenes and past scary Hallowe'en characters at the museum. Children will enjoy trick or treating and making Hallowe'en crafts, and there are haunted houses for those who dare!

After 4:30 pm, costumed spooks will be mingling with the visitors and creeping up in unexpected places! The performers are provided by the South Island Musical Theatre Society. Spooky exhibits and live Hallowe'en music will take place in the main gallery.

Samson, the 1910 steam locomotive, leaves the station every 30 minutes except there will be no train at 4:30 pm.
