Our family friendly, free-to-attend arts celebration presents some of the world's top international chalk artists as well as artists from our local community and the Lower Mainland. This year, our festival significantly expands across our beautiful downtown and includes the Royal BC Museum which hosts our exciting 3D chalk painting within a free admission area as well as our performance stage featuring many singers, dancers and drummers from our First Nation's community. Meanwhile our closure zone on Government Street increases by several city blocks presenting many more artists, a kid's chalk zone, a food village and more!

18th Annual English Car Affair in the Park

At 10:00 am precisely the skirl of the pipes will herald the start of this very popular event. Over a hundred classic & vintage British automobiles will festoon Fort Rodd Hill's open meadow. Sponsored by the Old English Car Club of BC, this event delights connoisseurs and intrigue newcomers. Each year, vehicles of a selected marque are showcased under the streamers of the maypole.

Feast of Fields, a 4 hour wandering harvest festival, is our annual fundraising event. With a wine glass and linen napkin in hand, you can taste the very best of BC from chefs, farmers, fishers, ranchers, food artisans, vintners, brewers, distillers and other beverage producers from across the province. Feast of Fields highlights the connections between farmer and chef, field and table, and farm folks and city folks. Feast of Fields is a gastronomic journey towards a sustainable, local food system. Last year we celebrated our 20th Anniversary,and this year we are presenting our 20th Metro Vancouver Feast, our 17th Vancouver Island Feast and our 6th Okanagan Feast. Come celebrate with us!

Downtown Nanaimo's annual Harvest Festival celebrates the local natural food movement. The heart of the Festival is a lineup of 40 vendors, educational displays and interactive presentations focused on the local food movement. This one-day event includes a 'Fresh Food Fair' featuring local chefs and food trucks offering tasty dishes. Bluegrass and roots blues performers will keep the festival atmosphere lively. Baby farm animals are there for your petting pleasure as Tiger Lily Farms returns with their corral of critters for the little ones to learn a bit about farm life. Island Farms' 'Farmer Vicki and Daisy the Cow' will also be on hand. A Farmer & Vendor Market will offer fresh produce, locally harvested and value-added products from local growers and producers.
