Come see our new midway - Shooting Star Amusements, headline entertainment for 3 days, clowns, home show, livestock displays, home arts, kidszone, kennel club and k9 demos, sheepdog trials, skateboard competitions, goat milking demos & pie eating contest & NEW this year - our community garden. VIEX is fun for everyone!

Teams from across North America will race across a 500 m saltwater course, paddling from Laurel Point to the Royal London Wax Museum. This is the only dragon boat festival in Canada to take place in a working harbour.

This year the Lions Clubs of Greater Victoria are proudly combining their forces to bring one of the most iconic & memorable events to the Saanich Fairground. Representing a colourful tradition & ceremony through the horse and scarlet uniform, the RCMP created a spectacle known around the world as the Musical Ride, providing Canadians from coast to coast with the opportunity to experience part of our heritage & national identity. All proceeds from this event will support BC Easter Seals Camp Campaign and Victoria Therapeutic Riding Associations.

Admire the historic military vehicles on display, chill-out & enjoy live entertainment while the kids laugh as they test their skills on the inflatable obstacle course.

Children can enter their teams, with the eldest in the group determining the age category (ages 6 & under, 7-9 or 10-12). Up to 4 competitors per team. Excellent prizes for the best creations & all participants receive a goody bag! Many families plan their stay in Parksville around this event. Admission is free & the event is run completely by Quality Foods staff volunteers & their families. Watch the website & QF stores for pre-registration forms about 1 month before the event.

Don't miss the old-fashioned Cobble Hill Fair. This real country fair & exhibition has delighted visitors with agricultural displays, livestock & great family entertainment since 1909. Pender Island Farmer's Institute has been celebrating this beautiful Island community for 50 years! The gates open at 10 am with a colourful parade winding through the grounds at 10:30. Adjacent to the Pender Island Farmers Market, enjoy displays of animals, produce, crafts & educational exhibits. Children's play areas, show ring & guest speakers. The fair offers an outdoor beer garden & a terrific Beef BBQ with chilli for just $5 at 5 pm. Come one, come all to help us celebrate this landmark event.
