The powerful art and enthralling legends of Aboriginal history on Vancouver Island have captured the imaginations of visitors for more than 200 years, and are preserved today in various museums, cultural centres, and heritage sites.

Artists and artisans the world over are particularly drawn to the peace and beauty of the Vancouver Island region. There are studios and galleries in virtually every community exhibiting and selling original art and craftwork inspired by the region's land and seascapes, history, and traditions. As well, numerous theatre and musical performances are staged year round, at both indoor and outdoor venues.
