Breweries, Distilleries & Cideries

Rich agricultural lands and access to pristine water make the Vancouver, Coast & Mountains region an ideal place for brewing beer and distilling vodka.
Howe Sound Brewing in Squamish and the Mission Springs Brewing Company offer hearty pub food with a selection of craftbrewed ales, porters, stouts and bitters. Near Langley, go behind the scenes with a tour of Dead Frog Brewery. Vancouver and Whistler also have a number of breweries and brewpubs to sample.
Those favouring spirits should not miss the Pemberton Distillery, makers of the award-winning, hand-distilled and organic Schramm Vodka made from Pemberton potatoes.

Dead Frog Brewery
Take a tour of Dead Frog Brewery in Aldergrove (near Langley) to learn about the brewing process, taste the fleet of Dead Frog's beers, and take home a souvenir pint glass.
Brewpubs
At Howe Sound Brewing in Squamish, sample more than a dozen beers that were brewed within sight of “The Chief,” a 700m/2,300ft granite slab that is a mecca for rock climbers. Howe Sound beers are often named after Squamish landmarks and events: Mettleman Copper Ale pays tribute the Test of Metal bike race, while Devil’s Elbow IPA references a favourite local kayak spot.
Want to work up a thirst before sampling? Mission Springs Brewing Company features volleyball and basketball courts for patrons. The building has a traditional pub and a family-friendly restaurant. Both are well-known for their beer and wood-oven, alder-smoked pizza and calzones.
Pemberton Distillery
Pemberton's top quality potatoes and unspoiled glacial water make it the perfect place to create premium vodka. Pemberton Distillery produces the only certified organic vodka in the world: Schramm Vodka. The first hand-distilled vodka was released in 2009 and received a Double Gold and a Spirit of the Year award at the World Spirit Awards in Austria the following year. Tour the distillery and finish with a tasting room sample.
