The Heights Merchants and Community Present: Hats Off Day on Saturday June 1, 2013 from 9:30am - 4:00pm.

It's a party along Burnaby's Hastings Street, as Heights Merchants and the community "take their hats off" to their customers, locals, and visitors alike. Jump down the rabbit hole for a 'Mad Hatter's' celebration on Hastings Street! You'll find a kids fun run, a parade, a vintage car show, food, music, and adventure for all ages.

The Children's Festival is one of the highlights of the Mission Arts Council's year and a great kick-off to summer.

This day, which is running for the 17th year, is fun-filled for children and the young at heart.

Music, dance, juggling, games, numerous art workstations, pony rides, bouncy balloon and more guarantee smiles and laughter all around.

Enjoy a day of old-fashioned fun at our old time social. Games of chance, raffles, giant bake sale table, musical entertainment, and of course our yummy strawberry shortcake. Visit our Living History camp where Black Powder and Royal Engineers re-enactors will be putting on black powder demonstrations, ax and knife throwing and firing the candy cannon. More info to come as it becomes available. Admission charges apply.

Located in historic Ladner Village, this 3 block long, open-air market runs rain or shine and has over 150 vendors from all over the southern province. Visitors will have a variety of fresh produce, meat, plants, garden art, handmade jewelry, soaps, furniture and crafts. They can also sample an array of food and beverages from restaurants and market vendors. Market is open 2 Sundays per month - check website for updates.

The Point Grey Fiesta is the community's annual start-of-summer event for families and friends.

Starting with a Saturday parade on West 10th Ave, the celebration continues in Trimble Park with stage performances, activities and exhibitors.

Carnival rides in Trimble Park operate from Friday to Sunday.

With the exception of the carnival rides and midway games, Fiesta entertainment and children's activities are free of charge.
