The delightful story of Coppelia, is one of mistaken identity. Storyteller E.T.A. Hoffmann weaves a tale of a toymaker, his doll, and a young couple in love. Dr. Coppelius, the toy maker, has created a lifelike doll - Coppelia, and wishes to bring her to life. He believes his dream has finally come true only to realize he is caught up in a hilarious lover's spat. The title of the exhibition, 'everywhere is anywhere is anything is everything', refers both to Coupland's deep engagement with place and cultural identity and, simultaneously, his recognition of a growing ubiquity as access to information, images and technology becomes more readily available to the masses.
