Taking place as part of the Modulus Festival, the 31st instalment features a stellar line-up, including renowned composer John Oswald, choreographer Holly Small, and the Cecilia String Quartet, coupled with Toronto-based dance artists and local favourites Vanessa Goodman, Stewart Iguidez, and Makaila Wallace. The eclectic ensemble will collaborate on a diverse evening of dance, with original Oswald compositions, live performances of Tchaikovsky scores, and more. Tickets: $20 cash at the door. The Dance Centre celebrates Diwali in the Discover Dance! noon hour series, with a performance by South Asian Arts showcasing some of the vibrant dance styles of India. The performance will feature bhangra, which was originally a joyful and high-spirited folk dance celebrating the harvest, along with intricately beautiful classical Indian dances, and Bollywood, the wildly popular mashup of jazz, traditional dances, comedy and pop culture that has taken the world by storm. There will be an artist talkback after the show. The performance is presented as part of the Lower Mainland's largest Diwali Festival. Tickets are priced at $14 regular, $12 students/seniors/children from Tickets Tonight.
