The Spirit of the Sea Festival is an annual weekend-long celebration in the proud community of White Rock, BC.

The festival is full of free fun for the whole family, including a children's carnival and parade, beach games, races, fireworks and continuous live entertainment.

Events span more than 2 kilometres along the waterfront overlooking the silver beaches of Semiahmoo Bay.

This is a family-oriented celebration of the sea in the traditional territory of the Semiahmoo First Nation.

The Tour of British Columbia is the longest ultra-endurance cycling race on earth-a challenge that truly allows riders to discover exactly how far they can go.

The route captures the very best natural beauty that Canada has to offer. Cyclists will climb over 48,000 vertical meters (157,000 feet) as they make their way through several mountain ranges, past glaciers & fresh water lakes & rivers. Wildlife is abundant, bears populate much of the course & huge bison are found in the northern regions.

The race starts & finishes in White Rock, but travels through dozens of BC communities & parks.

The parade entries include colourful floats, musical marching bands, community groups and 650,000 spectators. The Fraser Valley "G" Scale Model Train Club will run trains; miniature horses will be on display & Aldor Acres' rabbits for the kids. Demonstrations of wool carding, spinning & weaving on the loom. Free coffee and Timbits from Tim Horton's Cruiser on-site from noon to 2:00 pm. We will sell orange-flavoured drinks for the kids and coffee for the old fashioned price of 25 cents per cup. The popular "Scavenger Hunt" will be available for families to enjoy. Admission by donation of a loonie.

Best of the West is an event where West Vancouver will be celebrating BC's best (timely with BC day). There will be 13 participating wineries and 13 participating restaurants. The restaurant will be in charge of creating a dish to go with the wine given by the winery. There will also be a competition that night. The guests will be asked to choose the best food and wine pairing of the evening. There will be a draw from the people who entered their vote. The winning person will receive a gift certificate from the winning restaurant for $100.
