The vibrant theatre and performing arts scene reflects the cultural mix of the Vancouver Coast & Mountains region.
Vancouver's Theatre & Performing Arts
As the region's urban centre, Vancouver offers audiences a vast number of performance choices.
In summer months, the city's Bard on the Beach is much-loved by thousands of Shakespeare fans, as are Stanley Park's Theatre Under the Stars outdoor shows. The Arts Club Theatre Company hosts a wide range of live theatre productions on Granville Island and at the Stanley theatre. Other classic choices include: ballet, symphony, opera, jazz and blues clubs as well as stand-up comedy revues.
Sunshine Coast Theatre
Drama enthusiasts will also appreciate the Sunshine Coast, where several groups present theatrical productions. The Raven's Cry Theatre in Sechelt showcases various cultural performances throughout the year from dancers and pianists to Aboriginal storytellers.
