Vancouver, Coast & Mountains

Popular Areas

The remarkably diverse Vancouver, Coast & Mountains region offers all this in an eclectic mix of urban and outdoor adventures.

What makes an area in BC popular? Beautiful beaches, swimming and kayaking? Shopping and fine dining? Towering mountains and lush rainforests?

Four destination areas make up the region: Metro Vancouver, Mighty Fraser Country, Sea to Sky Country (including Whistler), and the Sunshine Coast. The North Shore Mountains are located less than a half an hour from downtown Vancouver.

From the cosmopolitan Metro Vancouver attractions, to cycling, hiking or boating on the Sunshine Coast, touring Sea to Sky Country with its glacier-carved peaks and waterfalls, or absorbing the rich history and sweeping farmland of Mighty Fraser Country, options abound for visitors.

Choose a starting point: there are two international airports – Vancouver International Airport (YVR) and Abbotsford International Airport (YXX) – pick a mode of transport and start exploring!
