Snowmobiling (Don Weixl photo)
The mountainous terrain near Tumbler Ridge provides ample opportunities for excellent snowmobiling.
There is an extensive snowmobile trail network into the mountains, and many trails are marked at highway access points. Ride out into the forest, through the foothills, along creeks and climb up into high elevation alpine bowls. Choose from more than 300km/186mi of mapped trails.
Popular Snowmobiling Areas
Popular destinations for snowmobilers of all experience levels include Bearhole Lake, Moose Lake, Thunder Mountain, Mount Spieker, Bullmoose, Wapiti River, and Wolverine areas. Drive to the Core Lodge, a centrally located day lodge established by the snowmobile club.
Choose from numerous trails that branch out from the Core Lodge, including Windy Ridge, the Superbowl, the Terminator, Kinuseo Falls, and Blackmeadows. Experienced snowmobilers can journey into advanced terrain in the Red Deer Falls area, but be aware of high avalanche potential.
