There are four ways into the Thompson Okanagan region: plane, rail, bus or car.
They all lead to the warm-water lakes, towering mountains, vineyards and orchards for which the region is justly famed, and which makes the Thompson Okanagan an extremely popular destination.
The region is serviced by one international and two local airports, located in Kelowna, Kamloops and Penticton respectively. The iconic national rail tour called "The Canadian" stops in Kamloops. Commercial bus lines run to nearly all cities and towns, while highways flow into the region from all directions.

Getting Around
The Thompson Okanagan is an interior region, so you'll do most of your travelling within it over land. When you encounter a lake or river along the highway that isn't bridged you can board a free ferry. Nearly as flexible are the commercial bus lines, which offer services to just about every city and town in the region. Larger centres have modern and convenient public transport systems.
