The Thompson Okanagan region is renowned for having family-friendly ski resorts with terrain to satisfy every level of skiing and snowboarding ability. Up to 7m/23ft of snow can fall on the slopes in a single season.

All four major resorts here (Sun Peaks Resort, Big White Ski Resort, Silver Star Mountain Resort and Apex Mountain Resort) have excellent ski-in ski-out accommodations. Ski Canada magazine recognized their convenience by including some of them as the “Best Choice for Lazybones who like to Ski Straight from their Doors” (2008).

Uncrowded and economical downhill skiing and snowboarding areas can also be found in the Thompson Okanagan. Try Crystal Mountain Ski Resort (Kelowna), Mount Baldy Ski Area (Osoyoos) and Harper Mountain (Kamloops).
