If learning to fish is on your list of things to do with the kids, here's your chance! every Saturday & Sunday from May to June 16, visit Mission Creek or Shannon Lake Regional Parks & try your luck. The ponds will be stocked with trout, ready and waiting to be caught. Volunteers and staff will be on hand to help new fishers. This event is for children 15 and under, with a 1 fish per day limit. No fishing license is required for BC children 15 & under.

The Annual Lumby Air Races is a fun filled event involving closed circuit triangle racing around the town and area of Lumby. Come join us for a pancake breakfast, the Big Fire of Life, live dance music Saturday evening and more.

Rootin' Tootin' good old fashioned cowboy & cowgirl events in a rustic setting every Father's Day weekend. Bull riding, barrel racing, steer wrestling, bareback & bronc riding, Tie Down & Team Roping. And for the younger ones we have junior & pee wee barrel racing and junior steer riding. Concessions, beverage gardens, covered grandstands and a Saturday night dance held at our local downtown hockey arena from 9:00 pm to 1:00 am (no minors please). Come on down and enjoy the excitement!

Enter Salmon Arm's Team Triathlon. Race course includes 35 km bike race, 10 km run & an 8 km canoe/kayak paddle from Canoe Beach to Salmon Arm Bay wharf. When possible, separate categories created for recreational & competitive participants. Check our website for 2013 dates and times.

North America's largest co-ed slo-pitch tournament with more than 5,000 players participating in this 29th annual event. From competitive to very recreational, players from across North America and as far away as New Mexico, participate in this award winning tournament.

With the beautiful Okanagan as a background, Funtastic sells out each year, especially the highly popular Costume Division. Funtastic occurs over the July long weekend starting on June 28 and also hosts an outdoor music festival presenting some of the biggest names in classic rock such as Kim Mitchell and Nazareth.
