Debbie Milner will teach you the techniques she uses for painting with acrylics, covering such topics as understanding acrylic paint, creating a good composition and design from a photo, basic colour mixing, painting glowing sunlight, brushwork, and more. This class will be taught using a step-by-step method, which will make it easy for beginners to understand the process. Debbie will provide assistance to each student at his or her individual painting level. Photo references will be provided.

Back by popular demand, the Mountain of Beer and Chili Cook-off returns! Tour the village restaurants sampling signature beers from a wide variety of breweries, and tasting house made chili from local chefs. Participants will be asked to cast their vote for their favourite beer and chili to determine who will be awarded the 2013 People's Choice Award. Awards will take place on the village stage at 4:30 pm.

The event includes: A Judged Quilt Show, 2 Travelling Quilt Shows, Merchants' Malls in 4 locations through Sun Peaks, Dinner & Trunk Show, 2 days of structured workshops and 2 days of a quilting retreat. Following the workshops wind down for the next 2 days when attending a "Border Bonanza Workshop & Retreat" with Dianne Jansson, from Diversity Quilting in Pritchard, BC.
