Park in BC (JF Bergeron photo)
Summerland’s parks provide green space within the urban environment and serve as gathering spots for community entertainment and events.
Year round, the city's public parks (many located along the shores of Okanagan Lake) are alive with outdoor recreational activities like swimming, kayaking, boating, wakeboarding and fishing.
Spend a day on the beach at one of Summerland's popular Okanagan Lake waterfront parks. Peach Orchard Beach offers large grassy areas, a sandy beach for swimming, a kids’ water park, volleyball, an enclosed dog park, a floating dock and a boat launch. The gazebo, stage and interpretive stations of Summerland's Spirit Square are also located in this park. Nearby Gordon Beggs Rotary Beach is known for sand, shady trees, docks and the historic Kiwanis Pier.
Southwest of downtown Summerland on Trout Creek Point, Sun-Oka Provincial Park is a south-facing day use area with broad lawns, picnic facilities and a sandy beach, ideal for swimming and kayaking.
