Silver Star Mountain Resort Cross-Country Skiing
Cross-country skiing at Silver Star, Tourism BC/Don Wiexl photo
Silver Star Mountain Resort is a world-class cross-country ski destination, and that's no boast. Prior to the Vancouver 2010 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games, Silver Star hosted 10 Nordic national teams.
Early Season Cross-Country Skiing
Early snow and excellent conditions get the season off to a quick start. At around 1,664m/5,500ft elevation, trails are usually clear of valley cloud – sunny and bright. Moderate average temperatures (-5°C/23°F), excellent grooming and beautiful scenery make it a memorable experience for everyone from novice to elite athlete.
Huge Variety
Track skiers, skate skiers, Nordic touring and telemark enthusiasts glide through the forest or tackle challenging climbs and descents over steep terrain. With additional trails at the adjacent Sovereign Lake Nordic Club and combined tickets for the two venues, there's plenty of variety on more than 100km/62mi of trails.
