Dining
Dining at Silver Star Mountain Resort can be a casual burger, as sophisticated as sharing the chef's table in the kitchen or as romantic as a moonlit ride through the forest to a rustic cabin.
Look for a wide selection of Okanagan wines.
Fresh Baked
Silver Star regulars say the place for pastries and high-octane java or Dutch hot chocolate is Bugaboos Bakery Café. Frank, the Euro-trained owner, gets up at 4am for fresh-daily baking. Lunchtime soups and sandwiches are also homemade.
Quick Bites
For a speedy fuel up and back to the slopes, the Town Hall serves cafeteria-style sandwiches, burgers, salads, pasta, chili and homemade soups in the heart of Silver Star village. At the Adventure Park, burgers, hot dogs and snacks top the menu at Tube Town Cantina. Hot chocolate with marshmallows is popular for sipping around the bonfire at Brewer's Pond.

Best Patio
Silver Star's only patio bar helps give the Bulldog Grand Cafe the feel of a Euro ski resort eatery. Inside the dark wood and multiple fireplaces welcome diners of all ages. The menu offers a kid's section, some unusual Indonesian dishes and there's Heineken on tap.
Family-Friendly Pub Fare
Long John's Pub is known for the best burger on the mountain and a personal greeting from one of the owners – John or John. Good for a fast lunch between runs and family meals when the light fades. After hours, there's live entertainment on an unscheduled basis.
Families rule at The Saloon for lunch and dinner until 8pm, then this place morphs into the biggest dance venue at Silver Star – ski boots okay. On Saturday nights, after an impromptu game of shinny (informal ice-hockey) on the pond, catch Hockey Night in Canada on TV.
Fine Dining
Check out Swiss with a twist at Isidore's Cuisine on Main St. Not open for lunch (the chef's out skiing); Isidore's dinner menu features BC salmon, a catch of the day, AAA steak and fondue for two. But the real deal here is dinner at the chef's table right in the kitchen (book ahead).
Small, intimate and tucked into a niche behind the Town Hall, the Silver Grill Steak and Chop House is touted as one of the best restaurants in the entire North Okanagan. Fine dining on steak, chops and seafood.
Dinner in the Forest
A 12-passenger snowcat (fully tracked, truck-like vehicle) whisks diners through the starlit forest to the rustic Paradise Camp cabin in Silver Star's Putnam Creek area Friday and Saturday nights. The à la carte menu includes steak and salmon served by lantern light.
Diners snowshoe or ride in a horse-drawn sleigh to reach the Wild Horseman's Cabin, where a woodstove fire awaits. Various tours feature different menus from buffet to chocolate fondue.
Summer Season
Several Silver Star restaurants operate only during winter. For summer dining, check out The Saloon, Bugaboos Bakery Café, the Bulldog Grand Cafe and Isidore's.
Do-it-Yourself Dining
With full kitchen facilities in most accommodations, many people like to indulge in a little do-it-yourself culinary creativity. A selection of ingredients including meats, baked goods and fresh produce is available at the Lord Aberdeen Market, which provides delivery service and will shop for special orders in Vernon on request.
