In 2014, Shelley Reid (recently retired RBCM Registrar) enjoyed a tour of Alaska and the Yukon, truly the last frontiers of North America. Shelley will share the experiences she had on a variety of expeditions including the Alaskan Railroad into Denali National Park, a sternwheeler cruise on the Chena River and a boat cruise through Prince William Sound. Come and enjoy sights of wildlife on land and sea including grizzly bears, caribou and humpback whales. Urban highlights will include Anchorage, Fairbanks, Dawson City, Whitehorse and the metropolis of Chicken, Alaska (population 17)! Time: Noon - 1:00 PM

As the Museum prepares to open its new exhibit on BC's gold rush, archivist Ann ten Cate will take a behind-the-scenes look at how the exhibit is being produced. The journey from the beginnings of an idea to a finished product is a long, collaborative process between curatorial, design and exhibit production staff - and there are inevitably a few bumps along the way. But bringing BC history to life for an audience that includes children, non-English speakers, and visitors with many different learning styles has been fun. 2:00 - 3:30 PM $5 admission, free for Friends of the BC Archives
