Transportation & Maps
Sicamous is located on the Trans-Canada Highway/Highway 1 midway between Vancouver and Calgary.
Highway 97A connects Sicamous with the Okanagan Valley to the south.
While Sicamous itself is compact and easily walkable, many outdoor recreational activities and provincial parks located beyond the village require car travel. Main roadways are paved, but backcountry off-roading requires four-wheel drive vehicles, equipped with winter tires in the season. Car rentals are not available in Sicamous, but are found in Salmon Arm, 30km/19mi northeast.
Greyhound Canada buses stop in Sicamous and provide multiple daily connections with Vancouver and Calgary, as well as regional centres.
Kelowna International Airport (114km/71mi south of Sicamous) offers multiple daily flights to and from Vancouver, Victoria, Calgary, Edmonton and Seattle, Washington, plus to other regional airports. Airlines include Air Canada, Central Mountain Air, Horizon Air and WestJet. Charters are also available.
The Sicamous Visitor Centre distributes maps of the village, information about local businesses and services, and a Shuswap vacation guide.
