Market Season: Open from April 26 2013 to Mid October 2013. Fresh farm products and local crafts - and it's all made, baked, or grown locally! There are about 70 regular vendors here, offering fresh fruits and veggies; delicious home baking; craftworks; woodworking; bedding plants; and more.

The Shuswap Lake International Writers' Festival brings together writers, readers, published authors, editors and publishers in an exciting and stimulating 3 day festival. The full festival registration includes a Friday night coffee house, Saturday night Storytellers' Party, a day and a half of workshops (all day Saturday and Sunday morning), as well as Saturday lunch and Sunday brunch.

The Sorrento Market is the place to be on a Shuswap Saturday morning. Fresh local organic produce, fine baked goods, eggs, cut flowers, preserves; Shuswap artisans sell their wares and local musicians entertain. It is fun to stroll among outdoor stalls of fresh produce and local crafts and tap your feet to the music. The Farmers' Market makes shopping a pleasure. The Sorrento Market is a community gathering place. "Come for the freshness; stay for the fun."

This may be the only Farmers' Market in BC where all vendors only sell organic foods. The vendors offer a wide variety of locally produced vegetables, fruits, beef, dairy products, grains and baked goods. The market is open every Wednesday afternoon from May through October and continues every second Wednesday from November through April.

Enter Salmon Arm's Team Triathlon. Race course includes 35 km bike race, 10 km run & an 8 km canoe/kayak paddle from Canoe Beach to Salmon Arm Bay wharf. When possible, separate categories created for recreational & competitive participants. Check our website for 2013 dates and times.

This annual First Nations celebration includes dancing, singing, crafts, food concessions and traditional foods such as bannock. The grand entry takes place at noon on both days. Open to the public and free admission!

Begin the day with a pancake breakfast, explore the historic displays and demonstrations, Collectors Fair, old fashioned games and music. Stay for a BBQ lunch or try a D Dutchman ice cream cone. It is our 30th Annual Skwlax International Pow Wow. Pow Wows are not just fun events, but also sacred events. Aboriginal food, arts and crafts booths, Princess Pageant. The Squilax Pow Wow is held the 3rd week in July and is one of the highlights of the summer. It celebrates the First Nations traditions of 3 local bands. An array of dances, including the jingle dress dance and the grass dance are performed.
