Get a fairway view at the Log and Hearth (Shuswap Lake Estates Golf and Country Club) or a front row seat for Salmon Arm's Nature Bay at the Prestige Resort's Sandbar Pub (251 Harbourfront Dr NE).

Order a pint of the local and see how it's brewed at the Barley Station Pub (20 Shuswap St N). Vallarta Cantina serves Mexican fare in funky style (331 Hudson Ave NE), while around the corner, Hedi's Wine Bistro offers European cuisine in sleek modern mode (250 Alexander St NE).

Upscale Dining

Shuswap Chefs is noted for fine dining with fresh local ingredients and west coast influences (240B Shuswap St NE). Table 24 boasts of having no microwave or deep fryer and presents fine cuisine in the sheriff's office and barristers' room of the old courthouse (20 Hudson Ave NE)

Unusual Eateries

Sip high tea in a lavender garden at Carlin Hill Lavender (4154 Eldon Frontage Rd, Tappen) or take the boat for a spin and stop for a burger or ice cream in Cinnemousun Narrows at the Sea Store floating restaurant.

Salmon Arm Markets

For do-it-yourself gourmet dining, the Shuswap Farm and Craft Market offers fresh produce, preserves and baked goods from local vendors Tuesday and Friday mornings at the Piccadilly Mall from the end of April to mid-October, and at the Salmon Arm Twilight Market, Wednesday evenings from mid-June to the end of August in the Ross Street parking lot. For farmgate produce and preserves stop at De Mille's Farm Market (3710 Trans-Canada Highway, SW); Pedro Gonzales Fruit Stand (3390 Trans-Canada Highway W); and Hanna & Hanna Farm Market, July and August only, (3181 11th Ave NE).
